  • Full Name: Samuel Elias Stranton

  • Age: 28

  • Pronouns: He/They

  • Sexuality: Polyamorous Pansexual

  • Serious Partners: Vixen Rehw-bidit, Vadoma Kymenos

Born to Gideon and Rhuna Stranton in the wise land of Sharlayan, Samuel grew up an academic largely interested in the topics of psychology, sociology, and biology. Taking his time at the Studium seriously, Samuel became an author who took the words of those he interviewed to heart and wrote about them. Soon he had published his first book "Legacy of Nyunkrepf" to... mixed success. It was largely just another book in the Noumenon. To make money... he started writing more risque content. This immediately gained him attention from outside the island of Sharlayan. Fearing his reputation as an intellectual he quickly had the published name changed to a pseudonym. This means that there are some rare first editions of his smuttier books that have his real name attached to them, which he is desperate to obtain and hide.

Xiros

Samuel is, in truth, a recently rejoined ancient. After being forced through ritual by another of this strange old race, Samuel is attuned to massive reserves of aether and his memories of his time on Elpis.Xiros was his name on Unsundered World, and he was but a simple caretaker for the projects on Elpis. He was no creator nor fighter, instead simply feeding and cleaning and caring for these prototype creations. In his job he came to care for all life, and it hurt him deeply when things had to be eradicated.Since rejoining he has struggled with his own morality, as he still views even this sundered world as a world teeming with life worth preserving.

  • RESURRECTED

  • Through means complex and varying, Xiros' memories and essence was reborn within Samuel. A partial and unique rejoining that led to him developing access to a fair few abilities beyond the mortal coil.

  • • Limited Creation Magic - Limited by the dynamis that suffuses the world as it exists now, and his own moral code, Sam is capable of manipulating aether freely to create, though he prefers to live without relying on such an ability.

  • • Dedicated Aether Reserves - Due to being so aetherically dense, Sam is capable of magical feats and stamina beyond that of a normal mortal.

  • • A Strict Moral Code - Sam believes that he, as he is now, is Samuel, not Xiros. He also believes, however, that the age of his people has passed and therefore imposes limitations upon himself. He refuses to take part in interfering directly in mortal affairs where his powers would give them an edge. He refuses to allow himself to have children as he is right now. He refuses to use his Creation Magic as a solution to his problems, choosing instead to use his vast aether reserves to accelerate what he deems possible in theory. Finally, he refuses to succumb to any form of alteration to others with his magics that would give them an inherent evolutionary edge.

The Desk of Samuel Elias Stranton

Written under his true name, Samuel has mostly focused his work on non-fiction educational titles about the peoples of Sharlayan

  • Legacy of Nyunkrepf - A book focusing on the history of sea wolves in Sharlayan and where the most prominent families came from.

  • Catpack - A book detailing the known Seeker tribes largely collected from secondhand accounts of Seekers living in Sharlayan, considered wildly inaccurate outside of Sharlayan and is widely received as Samuel's worst book.

  • Myth of Fyth: A Collection of Viera Folk Tales - A collection of Viera folk tales once again acquired from interviews with viera living in Sharlayan, leading to many of the myths written of here being unrecognizable to those who may have grown up with them.

  • Ruminations on the World Beyond - Samuel's most celebrated work, including accounts of the New World and Meracydia and speculating about the cultures that exist there or writing about those that are known to exist.

  • The Primal Question - Samuel's most recent work, The Primal Question asks about the future of primals, and speculating on those who may not yet be known to the public.

Constantin le Baiser was a pseudonym under which Samuel has written a countless amount of smutty romance novels that are widely considered to be addictive yet trashy. More recently, however, he has rereleased his works under his true name, deciding to be proud and own what he enjoys writing most.

  • Some of "Constantin's" more famous novels, but this is nowhere near the full extent of them:

  • Creation - An account of a scientist engineering a "perfect specimen" in the deepest depths of Labyrinthos, before being utterly overwhelmed by their own creation in every way.

  • The Goddess - An adventure novel that turns into a romance about a temple diver who discovers an ancient goddess and falls into worship of her.

  • The Dancer's Pet - A novel about a Thavnairian Dancer fighting monsters with her sidekick and his rise to a hero in his own right with his mistress' encouragement.

  • Siren's Song - A novel about a Limsan Pirate, N'hela Nie traveling the coast and taking many lovers on her adventures around Vylbrand.

  • Siren's Song II: A Brand New World - A sequel to Siren's Song about the Limsan Pirate Nhela Nie traveling to a largely fictionalized account of the New World, searching for a fabled platinum city.

  • Hunter, Hunted - An action-adventure tale with a bounty hunter and her captive traversing the harsh land of Gyr Abania, having various encounters and narrow escapes along the way.

  • The Red Mage and the Doctor - A gay novella about a Gyr Abanian Red Mage who was rescued by a young Gridanian doctor and develop a passionate yet forbidden relationship in the eve of the Autumn War.

  • Siren's Song III: Temple of the Lamia - The third installment in the Siren's Song series. In this, N'hela Nie finds herself and her crew lost in a labyrinthine temple of beautiful serpentine creatures.

  • Serpent's Rain: A Siren's Song Story - A spinoff off the story of N'hela Nie, instead following a character from Siren's Song II, the incredibly popular Ajiran Jacard, as he traverses the Indigo Deep and Sam's fictional account of the New World.

  • Menage Au Ra - A tale of a young author who has his heart captured by the love of two gorgeous au ra. The book is dedicated to Vadoma and Vixen, Sam's most serious lovers, and is loosely based on their story, though he fails to mention that in the dedication.

  • • Published Author! - By all means feel free to have your character own a copy of or have read one of Samuel's books, whether it be under his pseudonym or his more educational works! Feel free to make up any book from his more pulpy romance serials as well, as the list given is only a small selection of his large corny library of romance novels.

  • ======================

  • • Sharlayan! - Born and raised in Sharlayan, if you have spent time in Sharlayan feel free to know Samuel or at least of him! Most of his time was spent in Labyrinthos with his parents, an alchemist and a botanist.

  • ======================

  • • Aether Reserves - Mysteriously, for being such a rather untrained combatant or mage of any kind, Samuel has an unnaturally large reserve of aether that is very easey to detect for those who sense these things. A cursory glance at first would result in seeing, from the outside, a standard if not a bit large reserve of energy. Once one peers within, however, they are subject to a tesseract of recursive aetheric flow. Far beyond that of what a normal mortal would possess, be wary to those to stare too deep.

  • ======================

  • • Blue Mage - A fascination with Tural, or the New World, mixed with a desire to creatively manipulate his magic has led to Sam developing a brand of magic that is somewhat strange to those on the outside. A practitioner of the blue like any other, Sam has also focused on enhancing his blue magic through the use of complex arcanima. He is often seen in places one would study both of these, and for a while was found in medical wings especially in Labyrinthos for his frequent forays into originally learning blue magic.
